At the McIntyre park Inverhuron.

Past President Phil Hebert welcomed the members to the 2008 Annual meeting.

5 Ministry of Natural Resources Chris Tomsett from the Ministry of natural resources reported on the use of the Inverhuron Provincial Park and the upgrades that are continuing in the Park. Also the quality of the Lake water in the park. The beach at the park was closed one day this summer because of unsafe water to swim in.


6 NWMO (formerly OPG) Kevin Orr from NWMO (formerly OPG). gave an update on the deep ground intermediate waste repository that is being worked on at the Bruce site.


7 Bruce Power Frank Saunders from Bruce Power. gave an update on the Bruce rebuild plans for Bruce A next year. The sonic boom did not happen on the Bruce site.


8 Municipality of Kincardine Councillor Gordon Campbell - gave an update on the use of the Emergency Access Gate and the drainage improvements at Inverhuron


9 Inverhuron History Director Eugene Bourgeois and Dr. David T. McNab gave an update on this project.


10 Blue Flag Beach - A full discussion was held on Inverhuron Beach becoming a Blue Flag Beach After the discussion was completed and a vote was held by all the member that attended the Annual Meeting and by a vote 22(against) and 6 (in favour) it was directed to advise the Municipality of Kincardine that the members of the IDRA did not wish to make the Inverhuron Beach a Blue Flag Beach.

11Lake Water Safety - A discussion on the lake water safety was held because that one day this summer the lake water at the Provincial Park was found to be unsafe for swimming and the park beach was posted to be unsafe. . The Idra will look into this and see what can be done to make sure that the lake water is safe at Inverhuron. After contacting the Mayor Larry Kraemer and the Grey Bruce Health Unit to get the policy of water testing.
We were told that under the new Ontario Beach Management Protocol the lake water is only tested on a regular basics if the water at the beach has a history of being unsafe or the beach is a Blue Flag Beach or the beach has a swimming program. 12 Status of Tennis Courts in upper park - Is currently on hold as not funds were put in this year's budget


13 Inverhuron Bike Pak - At noon August 30 is the official opening of the park that is located at the end of Richard Drive


14)Corn Roast - the entertainment this year will be provided by Barry Margison and Paul Dekker. Also a draw will be held for a BBQ.
