July has ushered in the warm weather and with it another season in paradise. We began the summer with a wildly successful children’s Olympics held in Macintyre Park. Kevin Kenny managed a tight competition between the sand and stony beach teams. I am sure there was a winner but we all were winners to see so many children of all ages enjoying the competition. Just this past weekend many of us put out our un-wanted items so they could become someone else’s treasure at the Inverhuron Yard Sale. A great start to the summer.
This year we have purchased a soft tire wagon for moving tables to and from the beach and other locations as well as a barbecue so that we will not have to borrow one to cook hotdogs. We have arranged for picnic tables to be placed in both parks and if they are well received we will ask for more to be added. As the year goes on we will be looking for other ways to make Inverhuron easier to enjoy.
I would like to ask all members and residents to respect the swimming area as marked by the blue and white buoys and to pass the message to our guests and renters. Boats of all types should be launched and landed outside of the area. Dogs should be on a leash while on the beach and should not be allowed to swim in the designated swimming area. These rules are set by the municipality for safety and heath concerns. I am sure we will be more closely monitored by the city as time goes by and the potential fines are not worth the small inconvenience they cause.
We on the board look forward to seeing you at the annual meeting Aug 5th and at the corn roast in September.
Enjoy
